My Story

Hi, my name is Sydney Sternagel and my journey started a little over eight years ago when I was just in 2nd grade. I was a very average little girl until suddenly my family’s world was flipped upside down and my brother was diagnosed with PANDAS disease. Even though I was the younger sister, I still had to quickly learn how to adjust to the situation to further support my parents but more importantly my brother. Although I would do it again a million times, I also understood the toll that it took on me from that young age on and the difficulties that my family had to endure because of it. The reason why I started Make Y’all Smile was because I often didn’t quite feel understood because I never had the chance to connect with others that had gone through a similar experience or situation as I did. With this being said, I hope that I can make a change one sibling at a time and help children who have gone through similar situations connect with others and feel understood through a fun and positive environment; because let’s face it, every sibling of a sick child is a hero and warrior in their own shape or form. Together we can all make a difference one child at a time and help them receive the recognition that they deserve. I pledge to you, to Make Y’all Smile again.
